- One night we were sitting round the fire and my mother told us a story. There is a well on the roadside on the northern side of Ballyhea Graveyard. It is said that some centuries ago it was on the other side of the road. One day a (traveller) travelling woman washed her clothes in the well and the next morning it was at the opposite side of the road. Old people used to say that it was a wrong thing to wash clothes in the well and also to wash anything in a spring well. The well is still there and to be seen. It is considered very good water and people draw some from it.Another night my father John Daly told me another story. He said that there was gold hidden near our house.
