  1. Great Mowers.
    The best mower in our district was MICHEAL OKEEFFE of Doonasleen. Any day he caught a scythe he could mow an acre of hay. This man is still alive and is over eighty years of age.

    Great Walkers.
    There were many noted walkers in the district, but of these EDWARD OCONNOR was supposed to be the outstanding man. He was born in Doonasleen over a hundred year ago and lived there until he died He used walk to Cork City and return in one day in month of March. He used start at day-break and be at home for night-fall.
