  1. In the penal times there was a chapel about one mile distant from Ballydehob. One day while the Bishob was administering the sacrament ot Confirmation, Cormwell and his soldiers came into the chapel, and killed the Bishob and children. Beside the road leading to Ballydehob there is a grave-yard called Stouke. The murderd Bishob was buried here. Sometimes during the year, people go there making pilgrimages to his grave.
