    houses creak.
Insects and flies also show certain signs when rain is approaching. The crickets begin to screech in their homes, and the spiders creep out of their webs. The ants are seen creeping on the flags and stones. The flies provoke the cattle and small flies are seen in great numbers in the air.
The fire and smoke show signs of rain too. The ashes turn blue and the smoke falls down to the land. The soot falls down the chimney and sometimes smoke comes down also.
