In days gone by, in Lower Reenmeen, there was a man seen with a crock of gold.

In days gone by, in Lower Reenmeen, there was a man seen with a crock of gold. Several people saw the same man with it. It is said that he buried the crock of gold, where Mr. Vickery's house is now, facing the south point of Glengarriff pier.

The English were hunting this man. It seems that they hunted him a long distance, and he kept to the woods until he came to this place. There he
