  1. There was a custom in this district formerly of attending weddings uninvited, as "Straw Boys"
    A crowd of young men used to disguise themselves in straw and visit the bride's house during the wedding feast.
    They made a ponit of inviting the bride to dance and after that, the chief guests. If they behaved nictly [?], they were entertained and got a share of the food things, however sometimes, they made a "rough house" and had to be summarily ejected.
    This custom has fallen into disuse in recent years.
