    the ridge with it. Then he would get a spade and put four holes across the ridge and let a foot between every four holes. The farmer would have a sack for holding the seed or sgaláns called a pouch. When he would be planting the potatoes he would have the pouch on his back and according as he was making the holes he would put a sgalán into each of the holes. Then he would close the holes with a failithin. When the stalks would be over ground the farmer would plow the trenches then he would get bag-manure called ammonia and spread it on top
