    To see me back again.
And all the boys and girls I knew.
Would meet me in the glen.
    And would'nt we have time.
    As often we had before
In that little cot in the Co. Cork.
    In the valley of Anagore.

But o alas I fear the day
    For me will never dawn
And I will never see again.
The sun kissed hills of Gurrane.
And it will cherish in my heart.
Until lifes short gasp is oe'r
To see that cot in the Co. Cork.
    In the valley of Anagore.
    * Anagore = Ath na nGabhar = The name of the valley between Coolbawn and Gurrane through which runs the "Caol" stream.
