An old woman living at Cross called Judy McLoughlin was visited when all other cures failed and for a person animal Judy was never known to fail by measuring or setting the garter.
A story is told of Judy being teased by the clergy and one day as a certain priest was driving down Cross road the horse refused to pass a certain spot on the road and was held up until Judy came along and released him. The old people say she was never again teased by the clergy.
