  1. Apr. '38 The Landlord.
    The Mac Costello family came to Ireland with Strongbow. They first settled in or near Navan. After a time they moved to Leitrim + had a castle at Ballyshannon. Nect we hear of them at Castlemore, a mile to the west of Ballaghaderrin, from which they were ousted by one Theobald Dillon. They remained in Castlemore from 12th to 16th century. Then they settled in Edmondstown.
    Now the family seems to have broken up, one branch remaining in Edmonstown, in the house occupied at present by Mrs. Muldoon; a second branch going to Creggane and living near the Four Altars one (of these is said to have built the Four Altars): the third branch went to Kilfree, COunty Sligo.
