at a cross-roads I would not stir, but would allow the traffic to pass over me and kill me"
"How lazy are you, Jim" next inquired the king. "Well, if I were lying in the fireplace of an old house" he answered "and the chimney full of soot on a rainy day, and the rain and soot falling into my eyes I would not shut them to keep out rain or soot."
The king did not know what to do. One was every bit as lazy as the others. The king was in a dilemma. As he did not know which of them was the smartest or the laziest he did not know which to leave his wealth to. So the end of the story was he died of heartbreak.
