    support the frame wood of
    the cleeves. This craft has survived as we still find in almost every village at least one man who follows up this work. Andrew Conry in Cloonbunny and Peter Horan of Driney who died recently were very successful in making cleeves. The weaving of "súgán" chairs and mats in which many local people excelled was a notable craft in the district. Many comfortable chairs and dainty floor
    mats were woven during the long winter nights. The local people carded their own wool, which they brought to Flanagan's in Cluain to be woven. Thus the Flanagans got the name of "Michael the weaver" and "Willie the weaver." The making of pottery in this district is not carried on now as the cost of production is too high in comparison with the cost of imported goods. In the
