- Once upon a time a man near here went to America and after some time he returned in a chest of gold. He said that he would build a Castle and put the gold in it. So he built a Castle and then he said he would build Double Ditch all round the Castle so that he could draw his carriage on the ditch. This man was a Protestant and St Fintan wanted to convert so he went and when he has talked to him he converted. When St Fintan was coming back, he saw a big elm tree on the ditch and he struck his crozier in the tree and a weed sprung out of it and is there ever since.
