- My uncle told me that in Gortanlee, there is a field called the castle field. In the field there is a well, and when the Danes were coming long ago, the people hid their jewellery and money there, and it is all supposed to be there yet.

- There is an old lane going by our house, at the end of it there is an ancient looking white thorn tree and a well. There is supposed to be a leprechaun at the well and about twenty years ago, there was a man going to the well for a bucket of water, and he saw a little man. He looked one side of him and the little man disappeared. All the old folk say it was a leprechaun and this is the place it is supposed to be seen in.
