  1. My uncle told me that in Gortanlee, there is a field called the castle field. In the field there is a well, and when the Danes were coming long ago, the people hid their jewellery and money there, and it is all supposed to be there yet.

  2. There is an old lane going by our house, at the end of it there is an ancient looking white thorn tree and a well. There is supposed to be a leprechaun at the well and about twenty years ago, there was a man going to the well for a bucket of water, and he saw a little man. He looked one side of him and the little man disappeared. All the old folk say it was a leprechaun and this is the place it is supposed to be seen in.
