- (continued from previous page)before the Drainage of the Barrow commenced in 1925 , a huge stone weighing about thirty cwts.,lay on the east bank about forty perches from the handsome bridge which now spans the Barrow , tow and a half miles north of Athy .
This stone was thrown by a giant from the rock of Dunamaise in Leix. .This giant on this memorable occasion was entertaining Rory O' Moore and his guests with his feats of strength
