  1. Black Leg in Calves : The first Friday after a calf is born, a small piece is cut out of its ear in order to draw the blood.
If it is born on a Friday the preventive is left over till the next Friday.
Another Cure : A piece of copper wire is put through the dewlap of the calf. The ends of the wire are twisted in order that it may not drop out.
    Toothache :
    (1) Run round a hayshed three times without thinking about a fox.
    (2) Make a promise that you will not do a certain work on a Sunday any more. Write the promise on a slip of paper and hide it in the trunk of a tree. So long as the promise is kept the person will not have the toothache.
