    and blood was spilled in the chapel. When the Bishop heard this he came out and the place was shut up and Mass was never said there again.
    *Note The Mill
    The old Mill was built by a Man named Murphy from Westmeath He sold it to the Lysters in 1847.
    Lysters sons grew up gentlemen and when old Lyster died the mill was closed in 1869.
    St George was the Landlord in Lyster's time and he used to draw £100 a year out of it.
    The mill is now in ruins.
    * Ruined old School
    The old church above closed according to Dr Corrigan about 1834 was opened as a national school in 1871, and was so used until April 1916 when the present school which was newly built - was opened.
