I once visited Ormond Wood on a Summers evening. Ormond Wood is in the Dunmore Park near Kilkenny.
It is a Park with many small such woods, called in other parts merely clumps and the local tradition here has it that these woods are arranged exactly as a model of Waterloo to commemorate that famous victory of Wellington.
Some scion of the Ormond House had helped in the victory so we are told anyhow.
