  1. In olden times a Prince know Finvarra lived. By nature he was both disdainful and proud, crafty and cruel. All day long through the lawns and groves of his father's dominions he was free to rove as impulse led.
    One day near the outskirts of a wood an old woman bowed to the earth under a heavy burden of timber, accosted him. In order that she might be somewhat relieved, she implored his help. The imperious and wayward youth indignantly refused.
    Suddenly by some subtle magic the heavy load was transferred from her shoulders
