    Oaten cake.
    Long ago the old people were very economical, and they generally made their bread from their own farm produce. Years ago the people made bread different to that which is made nowadays, but long ago, the bread was more substantial than at present.
    In this locality almost every man ground his own oats with his own quern; and then his family had an abundant supply of meal for the whole year. Oat-meal bread was usually given
