    Churning
    In Ireland at present as in remote ages every Irish farmer produces his own butter.
    The dash churn as it is called is used up to the present day in every country homestead, but during the last few years a new invention known as the barrel churn has come into vogue.
    A dash churn had been used in my home until recently, but a trial has now been given to a barrel churn.
    This churn as its name imparts is a form of a barrel, which is placed on a stand, when a churning is being performed.
    It is roughly three ft. high and about the same in diameter
