    work was hard to be got, the young people of the district emigrated to England and America.
    The townland of Hazelhatch is mentioned in a song called the "Thirteenth Lock".
    The land in my townland is level and fertile and well suited for the growing of crops.
    There are two woods in Hazelhatch, which at one time were very large but at present it is not so big, as some of them were cut down or fell during storems. There are situated in Lord Cloncurry's estate.
    There is one river flowing through Hazelhatch which is called the Newcastle River. It rises in Clondalkin
