  1. Stories of Raths.
    There are many stories told in Celbridge about the raths in the nieghbourhood. A story I heard about The Mound in the townland of the Commons is as follows:
    A local man by the name of Fitzgerald better known as The Boyo Fitzgerald, a workman of Miss O'Conors was given the job of leveling The Mound about twenty five years ago. He came down one Saturdeay with a pick, a showvel and a spade. The first shovel of clay he tried to take out was in vain, owing to a flock of robins that lit on the spade and on the mound so thickly that he could not move it
