  1. One night a man was travelling to his home from the villge. When he came to the church-yard he saw a figure but he went on and tried to keep his courage. He had gone but a short distance when he heard a step walking with his own. He went in on the grass that was growing on the roadside but the ghost still followed him. When he came to a bridge, the step was not heard, as that kind of a foot could not pass running water.
    One night at twelve o'clock a man was coming from Rathdowney with a cow. When he came to the bend of the road, he met a coach and a large amount of cars behind it. They were chattering gaily as they passed him. The man said "Good night" to the first car behind the coach, but he got no answer. He was frightened as they kept passing him for a half-mile.
