  1. There is a moat at Fertagh Johnstown Co. Kilkenny, and it is said that in olden times there were valuable things hidden in this Moat. There is supposed to be a silver bell hidden there by the Danes, during the time the danes were in Ireland.
    The old people were supposed to have heard this bell toiling. This bell belonged to the church at Fertagh. There are other beautiful ornaments hidden around the moat that can never be found.
