    In the olden days people began to wear boots at the age of eight yearrs. There are no accounts told of people who never wore boots. Children go barefoot nowadays only during the Summer months.
    The water that people wash their feet with is always thrown out. There are no customs, or stories told about the water in which feet have been washed.
    Boots and shoes are both made and repaired locally. The local shoemakers names are Thomas Coulson, Drummany, Thomas Reilly, Dennaluck, and Michael Tracy, Drum. In the Coulson family the shoemaking business has been a family tradition for nearly two hundred years.
    There are not quite as many shoemakers in this district nowadays.
