    Football
    A football match was played in 1882 in Patrick Burns' meadow, Corrinshago between Castleblaney and Clontibret. There were 21 players on each team. There was no charge for admission. Nearly all the spectators stood on the road.
    The game was strongly contested. On one occasion while two players were making an effort to secure the ball beside a drain, one of the Clontibret men named King shouldered a Blaney man and
