    to appear and this is why it is said that nettle soup helps to bring the measles 'out' on the patient.
    (ii) Nettles are also used as food for young turkeys. A sharp knife is used to chop the nettles very fine, and they are then mixed with, ordinary food.
    Chicken weed: Chickenweed, fried in lard and applied as a hot poultice is a vey effective cure for a sprain.
    Any muscular swelling may be reduced if chickenweed is used in the same way.
    Comfrey Roots: are also very effective for reducing swelling if boiled and applied as in the case of chicken weed.
    Garlic: This herb is cultivated specially to be used as a cure for colds. The roots that resemble small onions are dug out, washed and boiled with sweet milk. The drink, thus prepared is taken before going to bed.
