- The birds commonly found in this district are Thrushes, Robins Blackbirds, Starlings, Crow, jackdaws, Wrens, Willywag tails, Pigeons Larks The Cuckoos, Swallows, Corcrakes come in Summer and go away in the Cold Weather. The Swallow builds in the eaves on Houses Hagsheds. "The Cuckoo builds no nest at all.
But in the woods she strays
And in another birds nest so small
A nice little egg she lays.
The lark builds low on the ground,
in the barn-field. Robins build in a bank. The Wren builds a house with a back-door and Front door. Crows build in Forts or in very high trees. Thrushes build in gardens or some ivy hidden arbour.
