  1. (continued from previous page)
The little homes of Monaghan: oh, how I love them all,
Where old and young live happily, whatever may befall,
Where girls go lilting lightly and boys are full of fun,
And love alights at morning and peace outlives the sun.
The little homes of Monaghan are nestling in the glen,
I hear the ploughshares turning and shouts of sturdy men,
Their feet are on the good brown earth; they're rooted to the sod,
The little homes of Monaghan are near the heart of God.
