    This is the way they made boxty in olden times. they washed raw potatoes, put them into a clean cloth and squeezed the water out of them. then they would mix flour, milk and salt just as in the potato bread. Another thing that was very common was, when they were out working in the field to make what they called a cast. Of course a cast was very easily made. They used to wash potatoes and then put them into a big fire that they made and roast them raw.
