    While Nellie was likely her sides for to burst
    And his head in the window stuck tight in the window, Twas the nicest wee window that ever I saw.
    On hear the noise Granny jumped to the floor
    And seizing the poker she ran to the door.
    And on poor Johnny's back, such a blow she laid on
    Shure another like that would have broke his back-bone
    The window gave away and the panes were all broke
    And Johnny made off with the sash around his throat
    The girls did shout and the children did squeal
    And the dogs and the stones came bay at his heels.
    Twas early next morning at the break of daylight
    Johnny got up for to set things all right.
