  1. This fort, circular in shape stands on a small eminence in a field on the right hand side of the road leading from St Patrick’s School to Clanghboley. It is said to have been built by the Danes to hide their plundered treasure.
    It has never been tilled as it is considered unlucky to do so.
    Carnagark Fort
    It is related that two boys with lighted candles visited this fort after sunset. Their candles were quenched but the fort itself was lit up.
