  1. Hail dear old village of my birth
The sweetest spot to me on earth
Hail grandest place in memory's shrine
Which round my heart doth fondly twine
May peace and plenty round thee roam
I shall for ever make you my home
May fortune frown with dazzling sheen
On the bonny boys of Sweet Dromkeen.

Twas here my sister played with me
In all the pride of girlish glee
My Eileen dear was wise and fair
And lent to me a mother's care.
Too good to live she winged her way
To Heaven's bliss an endless day
My Mary too so fair and wean
Is far today from sweet Dromkeen.
