  1. Sandford, Causeway, who died on October 26th 1871
    I
There's sorrow and woe through our Barony round
All over Clanmaurice to its uttermost bound.
From Cape Leen to the Cashen there is wailing today
Since our dear Master Thomas is taken away.
    II
From Cape Leen to Ceann Mara through our country around
Where ever a friend of the lost one is found
There's sorrow and grief whilst the kind word of praise
Will spring to the tongue as the love glance we raise.
    III
Thro' the vista of tears and remember the past
With affection and joy for the sunshine he cast
In the home of the peasant in the castle and hall
Wherever he moved he was darling of all.
    IV
I remember him well through the long buried years
How he fostered my joys and love banished my fears
How he spurred my young climbing to type lands proud fame
How he called me the bard when I won me a name.
