  1. Local Song

In Bóthap Róe there dwells a lass,

By the Shades of Bóthar Róe.
    I
In Bóthar Róe there dwells a lass,
    That has enchanted me,
    Her beauty is far greater
Than the rose of sweet Ardee.
    II
She is fairer than fair Ellen,
She is glorious and she is fine,
She is the charming girl of my sad woe,
And I wish that she were mine.
