When all re-echoes through out the race course
Clear the way boys the Grey comes, in
full fifty perches they kept clear before her
In awful paces she apssed them by,
A joyous heart she bestowed on thousands
Hurragh for Lynch was all the cry.
But the injust judges beign bribed since morning
By Paul Davis down from Elphin.
Allowed her jockeys for riding falsely
Should loose the prize or go out again
So to plainly show them she was well able again
    She entered the starting ring
Which sent a blemish upon Paul Davis
And sent him crying him to Elphin
Now proud Roscommon can boast no longer I defy all Connaught one to compare
There is not one to equal the pride of Leitrim I mean Miss Lynch or the young Grey Mare.
