  1. There was a hedge school in the town land of Ballyboy long ago. The master was a sort of traveller who was lame. In the summer he taught the children outside under a hedge (which may be seen still). He sat on a large stone and the pupils sat on smaller stones. In the winter he taught them in an old byre.
    He taught them that the earth was flat like a plate and that if you went to
