  1. In Brian Mannion's field in Gurteen there is a stone with a cross on it. It is about a mile from the monastery in Cloonkeen Kerril and about a hundred yards in from the road. The stone was to mark the distance that the monks had leave to walk from Cloonkeen Kerril.
There was a stone in a field about a mile from Tample cross-roads called 'Leacht an Ghlúin'. It is said that when St. Kerril was coming from Cloonkeen to kill the serpent in Gortnalon that he knelt on that stone and left the mark of his knees on the stone.
