  1. Near the Tample cross-roads is a wall which is called the "flaxhouse". A fire used to be kept burning there for drying the flax in this district. Flax was grown in Ireland long ago.
    "Gort a Mhainín" in Tample
    It is so called because it was owned by a man named Mannion.

  2. Poll Tuairín or Toirín.
    It is a field beside a river. The people used to was their linen there. There is a hole there where the river goes underground and beside this grows a xlump of little bushes.
