    cakes for about two hours then they took them up, sliced them fried them in butter.
    Winter is the best of all the seasons in which to make potato cake as the potatoes are ripe by that time. When you want to make potato-cake you have to boil the potatoes and when they are done they are peeled and mashed. Then add some flour and butter and mold into cakes. Fry dry and serve hot with plenty of butter.
