  1. More than a century ago there lived a man in the town-land of Aughavohil, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim. He lived to be very old and he was very wealthy. He was also a brave and heroic man and he done many a brave deed. The following is one of them-
    One day a poor old woman came into his house and asked him could he give her any alms. He gave her some alms but he was suspicious about her and he thought she was a spy and so she was. The old woman lifted
