  1. St. Stephen's Day
    This falls on the 26th of December. The boys have great fun on this day. They get a box and dress it up. Then they get a wren and put him into it. Then they get a wren and put him into it. They go from house to house and they a penny or two at each house. This is the rhyme they say "Dreólín dreólín rí na n-éan is mór é mhuire is beag é féin. Cuaigh súas a bhean a tíghe is tóg píghinn do na búachaill é!.
    St Brigid's Day
    This falls on the last day of January. The boys have great fun on this day. They dress themselves up in white and cover their faces with a masc. One of them has an implement playing it and others dance. They get money at each house.
    This is another custom that the girls use to have on this day long ago, but it is gone out of fashion now. They used to get a doll and dress her in red or white. They used to carry her in their hand and go around from house to house. The people used to give them money always. The doll stood for St. Brigid. They used not have any ryhone.
