  1. When a woman has a churning made she should take the lid off, and take up the churn dash and make the sign of the cross with it three times around the churn as that she may have good butter.
    If a woman entered a house whilst churning was in progress, and gave help at the churning she would have luck going home, but if she didn't assist at it she would never have any luck.
    People cure calf pock by means of unsalted butter.
