  1. TWELFTH NIGHT
    This is locally known as little Xmas night. A custom survives in the district in connection with this night. Twelve candles are made of rushes. A bed is made from cow-dung, and ashes, and the twelve rush candles, which are dried, peeled and greased, are then placed in the bed in proper order.
