    centre of the cemetery there is a flat flag with a hollow in the centre. On this flag there are cuts made by some rough instrument and this is said to be the remains of the old Ogham writing.
    Others say that two kings fought and died there and that one of them sharpened his sword on this flag and this is the reason why its called Kildaree.
    There is one lamentable defect in these graveyards, The graves are entirely too close to each other and very often the parts of two or three graves are dug up to make a new one.
