    women worked on these roads. These men were very poor. Sometimes these men went to their work hungry. They got very poor wages. They put old bridges in these roads. They were unlike the bridges of today. The people called them "ciseacha".
    One of these roads leads into Timard bog. It is called "bóthar bán". There is a whitethorn bush growing by the side of this porch. From this bush the porch got its name. It is said that "Púca" was seen under this bush.
    There is another old road leading into a sandpit. It is called "bóthar Bodhair". It is said that this place is haunted with fairies. One night a man was coming home from a fair. It was very late. As he was passing this porch he heard beautiful singing. He went in to see
