    He wrote to me another,

    But I heard no more about him,
    Than the Grannie walked upon

    He can go to his old mother now,
    And set his mind at ease,
    For I hear she is an old woman,
    And very hard to please,
    It is striking me and talking ill,
    Of it is what she has always done
    Because that I have been courting,
    Her great big ugly son.
