    would be filled out and they would go into the match making matters.
    If all went well they would appoint a day to meet either in a friend's house or in a private place in a public house. If both parties were satisfied with the fortune they would appoint a night to have the supper and both of them would have their near friends there.
    They would have plenty of dancing and singing and also plenty of refreshments such as geese and turkeys and ham. Coming on morning the girl's parents would pay over the fortune to the man and about six o clock the parties would break up. Two days later the man would return to the girl's house and take her to a town and buy the ring and provide for her a new rig out.
    In them days the rig out would consist of a high hat decorated with cherries and a plain coat and shirt. Later the man with the girl's father would go to the priest to make arrangements, and whatever day he would
