    The man with is ear to the ground, listened and he said that the witch was coming, and that the prince’s son was sleeping not far off. So the man with his bow-and-arrow shot the pin out of his hair.
    The prince’s son awoke, and saw where he was, and came back to the palace again.
    The man with the big nose, gave a snuff and knocked the witches bottle out of her hand, and he had that won [?]. The old witches’ [sic] head was put on the gate.
    Next the prince’s son had to walk on a row of needles. The man with the iron heel stood on them and crushed them into flour, and the princes son walked on them without putting a mark on his foot. The king gave him his daughter.
